US motorsports: a roaring start to the new season

Official partner of the US motorsports league, this year BFGoodrich® is proud to carry on its forty year heritage in all-terrain racing.

Americans are mad about motorsports and the start of this year’s racing calendar is already off to a roaring start. Considered ‘the ultimate desert race’, the 11th edition of the KoH (King of the Hammers) took place on the 10th of February in California’s Johnson Valley. The drivers had to face off against 200 miles of extreme driving conditions that brought together harsh desert tracks, uneven terrain and rocky paths which are near impossible to conquer. It’s a pitiless race and only a small number of competitors reach the finish line. This year one driver in particular distinguished himself: Shannon Campbell who won in a record time of 6h46’4’’.

A tank full of energy drinks

On the 4th of March last year in Nevada’s Mojave desert, American driver Rob MacCachren, in his BFGoodrich® equipped racing car, won the legendary MINT 400 race in 5h37’35’’. Created in 1967, this race is recognized as one of the USA’s most difficult. Official tire provider for energy drink giant RedBull and its GRC (Global RallyCross) race, for the second year running BFGoodrich® will provide its technology to the drivers of this extreme rallycross championship — the cars will be able to jump to heights of over 20 meters! The first of 12 rounds will take place on the 29th of April at Memphis in Tennessee. In the USA there’s no doubt about it, they are driver enough.
